Lesley H. Howe, various boards, recognized for Lifetime Achievement in Corporate Governance. Howe has more than 40 years of financial and management experience, including more than 30 years with KPMG, where he retired as its managing director.  In going out of his way to be accessible to management and by developing and implementing successful financial strategies, he has proven himself as an invaluable asset to the various boards of which he has belonged, including DJO Inc., where he serves as the audit chair.  While on the board of DJO, Howe has developed and implemented successful financial strategies. With his assistance, DJO developed a tremendously successful track record of profitable growth and acquisition integration.  He is also known for his guidance in the areas of judicious use of debt and excellent management of resources.  With Howe as a director, the stock price rose from about $4 per share in 2002 to $50.25 per share when it was sold in late 2007.

Howe is also currently a member of the board of directors of Jamba, Inc., P.F. Chang’s China Bistro Inc., NuVasive Inc. and Volcano Corp.  Over the course of his career, Howe has demonstrated the ability to manage resources efficiently, promote ethical standards and maintain calm professionalism in pressure situations.  He has been at the forefront of implementing requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and has been involved in a variety of complex issues, such as initial public offerings, secondary offerings, major acquisitions, sales of companies and implementing turn-around strategies.
