Andrew E. Senyei, M.D., chairman, Genoptix, honored as Director of the Year for Enhancement of Economic Value.

Drew Senyei was a co-founder of the company in 1999, and has served as chairman since 2000. He supported the evolution of the business to a new business model that allowed Genoptix to have the most successful IPO of 2007. Deloitte ranked Genoptix as the #1 fastest growing company in San Diego last year and #9 fastest growing Tech company in North America.

Senyei, managing director of Enterprise Partners since 1988, has over twenty years experience in the building of emerging life science and healthcare companies, including founding Molecular Biosystems. Enterprise Partners manages over $1.1 billion in capital and has invested in more than 160 emerging growth companies since 1985.

He has served on the boards of over 25 private and public companies, and in addition serves on The Board of Trustees of Northwestern University and is past chair of the UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering Advisory Council. He is the recipient of the 2007 E & Y San Diego Master Entrepreneur Award.

Prior to joining Enterprise Partners, Senyei was a practicing clinician and adjunct associate professor of obstetrics, gynecology and pediatrics at the University of California, Irvine.
