Murray H. Hutchison, director, Jack in the Box, honored as Director of the Year for Companies in Transition.

Hutchison has been a director of the company since May 1998, serving as lead director and chair of the compensation committee for much of the period since 1998. He also currently serves on the audit committee. He has played an instrumental role in helping Jack in the Box transition from prior leadership to the current CEO, and has been a steadying influence providing continuity in board perspective and governance. In addition to his leadership in succession planning and CEO transition, Hutchison was instrumental in championing the strategic business model transition from company owned stores to the current successful franchise model that set a new direction for the company & increase in shareholder value.

Hutchison is currently serving as interim executive chairman at Teppco Partners, L.P., with principal executive officer authority. He also serves as chairman of the board of Huntington Hotel Corporation; as a director on the boards of Cadiz Inc., The Olson Company, Cardium Therapeutics, Inc. and The Hobbs Sea World Research Institute; and held director leadership roles on YMCA boards for over 40 years.

He served 24 years as chief executive officer and chairman of International Technology Corp., a large publicly traded environmental engineering firm, until his retirement in 1996.
